About The Sector

The Beverage Processing Research and Development Desk and the Project and Engineering Research Desk are specialized units within the government food sector that focus on advancing innovation, efficiency, and infrastructure in beverage production and food processing systems. The Beverage Processing Research and Development Desk is dedicated to improving the quality, safety, and diversity of beverages such as juices, dairy-based drinks, and traditional beverages through research and technology development. In parallel, the Project and Engineering Research Desk supports the design, development, and optimization of processing facilities, equipment, and industrial systems.

Core Responsibility

The Beverage Processing Research and Development Desk is responsible for conducting research to improve beverage formulation, preservation techniques, and processing methods to ensure product safety, nutritional value, and extended shelf life. It develops and tests new beverage products, promotes the use of local raw materials, and ensures compliance with quality and safety standards. The desk also supports small and large-scale producers by providing technical guidance and facilitating technology transfer. The Project and Engineering Research Desk is responsible for designing and evaluating food processing plants, machinery, and production systems to improve efficiency and productivity. It conducts feasibility studies, prepares project plans, and oversees the implementation of infrastructure development initiatives.
